SHIPYARD COFFEE TASTES JUST LIKE THIS September 9, 2006 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
I do not like this coffee. I consider it to be under roasted. I much prefer the Starbucks that I consider to be slightly over roasted and even a bit burnt, to this swill. No matter how many shots of Illy used it still tastes weak to me. I am sure many people like it and they can go ahead. But if you like the darker roasts I would advise you to avoid this.
Great Flavor August 4, 2006 We have been able to enjoy many cappucinos with this espresso grind. It has a great flavor.
the exponential growth in its price March 6, 2006 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
The quality of this product is excellent. I think only some micro roaster or dedicated home roaster can beat it. Its price however has been going up like 10% every year in the US. $13-$14 a 250 gram can (about 1/2 lb) is just cracy. It costs about half that price anywhere in Europe. I stopped using it because it is such a rip-off.
the BEST imho September 18, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i love this coffee - never bitter or "off"-tasting, even without the honey i prefer to drink it with. when i used to travel more regularly to europe in pre-euro days, i'd ALWAYS purchase illy at the local grocery store because it was about 50% of the best price i could find in the US. i once got a curious look from US customs after they looked at my 26" luggage - that's right, FILLED with ILLY cannisters.
I've tasted a lot of coffee and... December 23, 2004 Illy wins hands down! It may seem a bit luxurious to spend so much on 8oz of coffee, but once you try it - you won't want to drink anything else! It has a wonderful aroma and flavor. Trust me - I live in Seattle!
