 Still Excellent, and now easy to get September 15, 2008
I have been using this brand of green tea for over 20 years. It's a part of my day. I used to get it from local stores in LA's China-Town, but then I have relocated to NW AR, and had real issues getting quality green tea at reasonable cost. Now, with being able to order it on line, this problem is solved for me.

 Bad brand?? March 13, 2008
I was told to try this tea from a friend who claimed it was the best tea she's ever had. I lived in Japan for 2 1/2 years and can tell the difference between real excellent quality green tea and the crappy american stuff they put on the shelves in our grocery stores. This tea tasted like crap and smelled like something charred and burnt.
Now, I don't know if I just don't like this tea or I bought a bad brand, but when I shared it with my friend who claimed gunpowder tea was the best tea she'd ever had, she took one sniff and look at this brand and said this wasn't the good stuff. She wouldn't even try it. I don't know what to look for with gunpowder tea if there is a good brand out there, but this brand is definitely not it.

I am not an expert, I was just looking for green tea for my morning commute. This tea is good, full flavored and the prior reviewer was right, I use a level tablespoon and get a good six cups in my coffee pot that I converted to use with tea. One warning, coffee filters do not work well with this tea because the leaves unfurl and clog the paper filter. Would recommend a screen filter, I bought one for my drip pot and it works well. I put it on the "4 cup" setting because the water gets hotter and makes a very good 6 cups of tea.

i ordered 2 kilos of this product and it's the best I've had to date!...
You actually only need to use about a lil less than a Tbs. to make an entire pot (approx 6 cups). The flavor,color,aroma are excellent. I had doubts about it coming from Shanghai instead of farther north but it's a very good tea and price as well.

Overall its good quality green tea for the fantastically low price.Id purchase this rather than paying for overly high priced so-called other premium green tea!
