Also called Oriental Beauty, White Tip Fancy or Bai Hao Oolong.This tea dates back to the late 1800s and has gone by many names over the years including Oriental Beauty, White Tip Oolong, Fancy Formosa Oolong and Champagne Oolong. At one time it was the most expensive tea in the world as demand from Europeans and Americans pushed the price up to incredible levels.This tea is extremely forgiving and easy to make. The only critical element is the quality of your water. Use boiling hot water as you would with a black tea, pouring directly over the leaves. We suggest enjoying the tea just as it is to appreciate the widest range of flavor, however some people like to add lemon or honey. It also makes an excellent ice tea brew a strong batch and pour directly over ice and serve.We recommend this tea as a high quality everyday tea. It goes well with most foods and is good with cakes, scones and the like. Steep 1 tsp. per 1 cup.
