Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Adagio ingenuiTea is the most innovative, convenient and easy-to-use teapot you can find. To use, simply fill the teapot with water, microwave and add in your tea. Once it has steeped, simply set the ingenuiTea on top of your glass ??? the tea will dispense automatically through a filter that removes the loose leaves and will stop once you lift the pot, so you never have to worry about spilling hot tea as you pour. Once you've enjoyed the fresh taste of your loose-leaf tea from your ingenuiTea, you will never want to bother with pre-bagged tea again. Made of food-grade, microwave safe plastic, the teapot is lightweight and sturdy, making it perfect for use in the office or while traveling, as well as for use in the home. To make cleanup as easy as brewing, the ingenuiTea is also dishwasher safe.

5 out of 5 stars Even better than pictured model   October 4, 2008
I had the Teavana model of this, which is identical to the picture with a different logo. I've used it for a couple years, often twice a day, and my only complaint was that the filter isn't removable and starts to accumulate tiny particles of tea (tip: soak in Oxybrite). Eventually, mine started leaking a little so I replaced it with this item.

It's actually a different design than pictured, with a clear, sloped base and a removable filter. I haven't used it yet, but this looks like a big improvement. I'll revise my review if I discover otherwise.

4 out of 5 stars I'm A Believer Again   August 30, 2008
TIP: I've had this 'teacup' (16 oz.) for a while now. I recently became frustrated with it. I use green tea (leaves never bags) and I re-infuse the leaves. Normally I would pour the hot water into the cup, steep the tea the enjoy my cuppa.

A few weeks ago, I decided to try using cold water and popping it into the microwave as suggested. That, I thought, would eliminate the step of boiling a kettle full of water for 16 oz of tea. True, but the little strainer at the bottom of the cup kept popping out, and the leaves would then strain into my cup - annoying me and wasting my leaves. I was not a happy camper.

Well it finally dawned on me yesterday that the hot water worked to seal the little strainer. So now I have completely abandoned the microwave idea (probably wasn't good for me anyway). I pour a bit of hot water into the cup, wait 3 seconds, gently press on the strainer with my spoon, listen to it pop into place and seal. THEN and only then do I add my precious tea leaves and more hot water and wait 2 to 3 minutes for gratification.

When re-infusing the leaves, I press first with the spoon while carefully adding a bit of hot water. If I don't, when the strainer pops out the leaves already in there will slip under and end up in my cup.

I've noted that even when using the hot water, if you pour all at once the strainer will pop out. I don't know why this is happening now or if it happens only with mine, but the above is my solution if you encounter the same issue.

5 out of 5 stars So Easy to Use - make tea or iced tea in a snap   August 10, 2008
This amazing device is easier to use than a tea kettle and tea pot. I make yummy iced tea all the time - I will buy one for my daughter for use in the dorms. I bought the large size 32oz which is perfect - I think 16 oz would be too small. Also it is very easy to clean. Well designed great idea.

5 out of 5 stars Finally a "gizmo" that works great   July 16, 2008
I was very skeptical at first that this design would have all kinds of leakage problems and just be a mess. I was very happy to discover that it works exactly as specified. I use mine at work. Simply put in the Tea, fill with hot water and let steep. When it's ready just set the item on top of your mug and presto, you have tea. Or put it on top of a glass of ice and you have ice tea. It also comes with a little tray to set it on afterwards.

I think my only suggestion would be to include measuring lines on the side so you can tell how much water you're putting in. If you have a small tea cup you need to be careful not to overflow it when you place the device on top of the cup. But no biggie.

Really a great little invention. Beats the heck out of any tea balls or screens I've been using. It's also a great gift idea.

5 out of 5 stars Quick and Efficient way to brew tea!   April 28, 2008
You can quickly and efficiently brew tea in one pot. The pot can be used in the microwave. Once water is boiling, drop in tea leaves and let it steep. It's a great product.
